In a parliamentary spectacle of few precedents, the Government has had to withdraw in 24 hours its veto to change in Congress the taxes on banks and energy companies that it tries to impose.

The Secretary of State of the Ministry of the Presidency,

Rafael Simancas

, has sent a new letter to the President of the Congress,

Meritxell Batet

, in which he informs her of "the withdrawal of the document of November 15", according to the letter to which he had access this journal.

In the previous letter, he informed that all the amendments in this regard, even those presented by an investiture partner such as the PNV, received a veto from the Government

"for assuming an increase in spending or a decrease in income

. "

This slam caused outrage not only in PP, Ciudadanos and Vox, but also in the PNV and PDeCAT, as well as astonishment in the country's large energy and financial companies, because they trusted that some of these amendments would soften the blow of the tax.

Finally, without giving reasons for such a sudden rectification, the lieutenant of

Félix Bolaños

in the Ministry of the Presidency has withdrawn the veto, which does not imply approval of the amendments, but rather negotiations and processing.
