  In August 2022, the Economic Investigation Corps of the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau and the Huangpu Branch of the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau found clues through data research and judgment that the toy products sold by an online store were highly similar to "Lego" toys, and there was a suspicion of infringement.

Starting from the online store, the police dug up a complete criminal industry chain involving design, processing, transportation, storage, sales, etc., which infringed the copyright of the "Lego" toy brand.

  The police found that a criminal gang headed by Chen had registered the toy brand by itself without authorization, and after stripping, copying and opening the mold of the "Lego" building block assembly toy, it was reproduced 1:1. Design blueprints, then mass-produce imitation infringing toys, and then sell them at 20% to 30% of the market price of "Lego" toys for illegal profits.

  In this case, the police arrested 30 criminal suspects, destroyed 8 criminal dens, and seized more than 600 infringing toys totaling more than 1.2 million pieces and more than 200 criminal molds, involving an amount of about 1.7 billion yuan.
