Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Nishimura, who is visiting Bangkok to attend the ministerial meeting of the APEC = Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Conference to be held on the 17th, had a meeting with Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister Suphathanaphon prior to the meeting.



In this, Deputy Prime Minister Suphathanaporn said that Thailand is also dependent on foreign countries for procuring LNG, and said, "By cooperating in procuring natural gas between Japan and Thailand, we can contribute to the growth and energy stability of Southeast Asia as a whole." will also contribute," he said.



In response, Minister Nishimura said, ``Amidst the global energy situation, stable supply is a challenge for both energy-consuming countries.''



On that basis, the two governments agreed to aim to create a framework for mutual accommodation when the supply and demand for LNG becomes tight, and to jointly participate in LNG projects.



After the meeting, Minister Nishimura told reporters, "The situation is extremely tight for LNG, and there is a global competition for it. I would like to take all possible measures to ensure a stable supply through cooperation between the two countries." Both of them showed the idea of ​​aiming to create a similar framework.
