He said this while speaking in the profile committee of the House of Commons of the British Parliament. 

“I’m afraid I will tell you a bad story: the UK GDP is currently 0.7% less than before the pandemic,” TASS quoted him as saying.

Bailey elaborated that, in other words, the country's economy is currently smaller than it was at the end of 2019 in terms of GDP.

“Eurozone rose by 2.1%, the latest figures for the US show growth of 4.2%.

It's a dramatic difference," he added.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, stated that the UK is experiencing a deep economic crisis.
