The workers of

Duro Felguera

have accepted the ERE proposed by the company, through which 180 workers will be laid off instead of the 208 initially planned.

The agreement has been achieved after a tight vote in the workers' assembly, in which the agreement has achieved six votes in favor and five against, according to sources from the company and unions.

The minutes of the agreement have already been ratified at the headquarters of the Asturian Service for Extrajudicial Conflict Resolution (

Sasec

), and the company has already communicated it to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).

In the letter sent to the market supervisor, the company indicates that the consultation period to carry out the staff adjustment procedure has ended this Wednesday, based on the "existence of objective causes of an economic, productive and organizational nature ".

The negotiation, they explain, has culminated in the agreement between the company and the workers' representation, which has positioned itself by

a majority in favor of the proposal

, which will affect 180 of the 1,293 company workers.

In addition, 40 jobs abroad will be amortized.

Duro Felguera values the agreement "very positively"

, which, they assure, "will allow us to gain in competitiveness, productivity and profitability and which constitutes an important step in the transformation process undertaken".

Meanwhile, CCOO de Industria has asked the company to be "up to" the "hard decision" that the workers have taken to accept the dismissal of 180 people and guarantee the viability of the company.
