A representative of a lodging company was appointed as a non-executive director of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, a public institution and the largest power generation company in Korea.

Even as a standing auditor, a person with no relevant expertise was appointed, and criticism is pouring in from within the KHNP.

Reporter Hoon-Kyung Jang reported.

This is the career of Mr. A, who has assumed the position of a non-executive director of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power from this month, an executive at a local media company and a representative of a lodging company, and Mr. A, which KHNP disclosed.

In an article dealing with Mr. A in the past, it is said that he operated a pub and lodging establishment and served as the chairman of the digital political party in the office of the Liberty Korea Party.

It is difficult to find any relevance or specialization to development work based on his career alone.

I asked Mr. A about his application background.

[Mr. A/Non-executive director of KHNP: Even though I am a little different in the nuclear sector, I am usually interested in using water in an eco-friendly way. I get the same grade.]

He insisted that his political career had nothing to do with his seniority.

[Mr. A/Non-executive director of KHNP: I thought it would be okay after I put (application application) in place.

In fact, I really don't know the background of how I was appointed.]

The standing auditor who was appointed last September was also controversial.

A problem arose during a national audit after writing down the experience of working for the Grand National Party in the selection application and not having little experience in related fields.

[Shin Young-dae / Democratic Party member (last month, the National Assembly): Comedy and nonsense.

How the hell did this have anything to do with the energy sector, so how did you become grateful for this position?] [Choi

Ik

-gyu/KHNP Standing Auditor (last month): Congressman seems to have misunderstood.]

We will deal with the construction of a spent nuclear fuel storage facility.

On the employee bulletin board, criticisms such as the company being the target of sharing seats and the removal of parachutes are coming up.

In response, KHNP did not disclose specific grounds for selection, although it selected them according to legal procedures such as the Executive Recommendation Committee and the Public Institution Steering Committee chaired by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance.
