Abu Dhabi Airports is preparing to launch the latest technology that will allow passengers through Abu Dhabi International Airport to use a face print as a passport, relying on biometric technology to complete all procedures with ease, from the moment they arrive at the airport until they board the plane.

This new technology depends on smart cameras taking pictures of passengers' faces to confirm that they are allowed to travel, and then the same biometric data will be used before passengers board the plane, which does not require the need to show any documents during their travels through the airport.

The use of biometric technology in the aviation sector is an important turning point that will undoubtedly result in a radical change in the current pattern of travel, and Abu Dhabi Airports is at the forefront of this transformation.

It is noteworthy that this technology will be launched gradually, as the first stage of activation is currently under testing at the US Customs and Border Protection office at Abu Dhabi International Airport, the only office of its kind in the region for US travelers to complete their entry procedures to the United States before leaving Abu Dhabi. .

This technology will also contribute to speeding up procedures when travelers arrive in the United States of America.

The application of this advanced technology at Abu Dhabi International Airport is the first step of the "Self-Travel Experience" initiative, which will help provide a unique and enjoyable travel experience.

This step comes before the increase in the number of Etihad Airways flights to John F Kennedy International Airport in New York from 4 to 11 weekly flights, as of November 15, 2022. The same technology is also available at the US Customs and Border Protection office at John F Kennedy International Airport, which means Guests who travel to Abu Dhabi from New York will also enjoy an easy and convenient travel experience.
