Al Dhaheri said in press statements on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Air Show 2022, that the number of passengers through Abu Dhabi airports this year exceeded 85% of the total number of passengers in 2019 (before the Corona pandemic), expecting that the number of passengers through the emirate's airports will reach the levels of passengers. itself before the pandemic by the end of next year.

Al Dhaheri added that travelers through Abu Dhabi airports have been in continuous and continuous growth since the end of the pandemic, stressing that there is a significant growth in the number of passengers this year, compared to their number last year.

In addition, Al Dhaheri signed, on the sidelines of the exhibition, an agreement with the UAE company, Next, to launch a smart travel journey through Abu Dhabi International Airport, which aims to speed up and facilitate the traveler's journey through modern technologies from its inception until reaching the plane.

He explained that the journey of the smart traveler is based on the face print to identify the information about the traveler, his flight and his destination, stressing that no papers or documents are used.

Al Dhaheri pointed out that there are partnerships with several parties to complete the journey of smart travel, and there is a full partnership and linkage process with the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship to provide information and data for travelers.

Al Dhaheri said that the integrated system for the smart travel trip will be implemented at the new Abu Dhabi International Airport, noting that there are trial stages to test the efficiency of the system, as the system has started experimentally at the Customs Clearance and Border Protection Center at Abu Dhabi Airport to verify its high efficiency.
