“As of December 12, 2022, AO Citibank will cease servicing current bank accounts in Canadian dollars (CAD), Danish kroner (DKK), Hong Kong dollars (HKD), Norwegian kroner (NOK), Swedish krona (SEK), New Zealand dollars ( NZD) and Singapore dollars (SGD)," TASS quoted the credit institution as saying.

It is clarified that by December 11, 2022, bank customers should transfer all money from accounts in the aforementioned currencies to others or to another bank.

In the event that users do not take action themselves, the bank will convert the funds into rubles into the current account in accordance with Citibank's internal currency exchange rate at the time of the transfer.

Earlier, the head of the Central Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, said that Russians should have a choice: leave the currency in their accounts, taking into account all the risks, or voluntarily convert it into rubles.

She stressed that the Central Bank of Russia did not study the possibility of introducing additional restrictions on cross-border transfers from Russia against the backdrop of the departure of some citizens from the country.

In September, the Central Bank of Russia extended until March 31, 2023 restrictions on the withdrawal of funds abroad.

Also, the Central Bank of Russia extended the restrictions on transfers for non-residents of unfriendly countries for six months.
