  According to the data from the National Bureau of Statistics, the national online retail sales in the first three quarters were 9.59 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4%; of which, the online retail sales of physical goods were 8.24 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.1%, accounting for 25.7% of the total retail sales of consumer goods. %, an increase of 2.1 percentage points over the same period last year.

The monitoring of key e-commerce platforms by business big data shows that the national online retail market in the first three quarters mainly presents the following characteristics:

  First, the sales of some commodity categories achieved double-digit growth.

In the first three quarters, 7 out of 18 categories of monitored commodities experienced double-digit sales growth.

Among them, Chinese and Western medicines, gold and silver jewelry, construction and decoration materials, and grain, oil and food products increased by 31.3%, 29.7%, 21.2% and 18.6% year-on-year respectively.

  Second, the northeast and central regions grew faster.

In the first three quarters, online retail sales in the Northeast and Central regions increased by 13% and 8.9% year-on-year, respectively, 9 and 4.9 percentage points higher than the national growth rate.

Online retail sales in the western and eastern regions increased by 4% and 3.5% year-on-year, respectively.

  The third is the gradual recovery of online service consumption.

In the first three quarters, online catering sales increased by 1.8% year-on-year.

The year-on-year decline in sales of online travel products and attraction tickets narrowed by 2.2 percentage points from January to August.

  Fourth, the online retail sales of agricultural products grew significantly.

In the first three quarters, the national rural online retail sales reached 1,497.85 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%.

Among them, the online retail sales of physical commodities in rural areas was 1,364.23 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%.

The national online retail sales of agricultural products was 374.51 billion yuan, an increase of 8.8% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 7.3 percentage points higher than that of the same period last year.
