Press release from France Media World:
“
While major events have been unfolding in Iran since the death of Mahsa Amini, the Iranian regime has just imposed sanctions on European organizations and personalities whom it accuses of “terrorism” solely on the basis of their action in favor of the freedom to inform or for the respect of human rights.
The writing of RFI in Persian is included in this list.
France Médias Monde deplores the fact that, under fallacious pretexts, Iran is seeking to extinguish a little more light on an important popular movement, led by the country's youth, in whose name many of them have already lost their lives for freedom.
The measures pronounced do not affect the work of RFI in Persian, already obliged for many years to work outside the country and which is made accessible to Iranians thanks to digital technology. France Médias Monde will continue to do its work of providing information on the situation in the country and to stand alongside the Iranian people, and especially women, who are fighting for freedom and equality.
