Wu Shijie said that in the third quarter, the passenger traffic on international routes rebounded significantly, with a total of 537,000 passengers completed in the third quarter, an increase of 73.3% over the second quarter.

  In terms of safe operation: in the third quarter, the entire industry completed 1.965 million hours of transport flights, a year-on-year decrease of 12.8%, and recovered to 61.8% of the same period in 2019; general aviation flight hours were 370,000 hours, a year-on-year increase of 14.2% and a year-on-year increase of 26.5%.

There were no transport aviation accidents, and the safe operation situation was generally stable.

  In terms of production and operation: in the third quarter, the recovery of major transportation indicators in the civil aviation industry was higher than that in the second quarter, but there were still obvious fluctuations from month to month.

In the third quarter, the total transportation turnover, passenger transportation volume, and cargo and mail transportation volume of the entire industry were 17.79 billion ton-kilometers, 86.397 million person-times and 1.560 million tons, respectively, down 12.9%, 19.7% and 9.0% year-on-year, respectively. 52.6%, 49.3% and 80.6% in the same period of 2019, an increase of 14.4, 23.2 and 1.1 percentage points respectively compared with the second quarter.

Among them, the performance of passenger and cargo transportation on international routes is more prominent.

  In the third quarter, with the orderly recovery of international passenger flights, the passenger traffic volume on international routes rebounded significantly. A total of 537,000 passengers were completed in the third quarter, an increase of 73.3% over the second quarter and an increase of 36.3% over the same period last year; the demand for cargo and mail transportation on international routes remained relatively high. At a high level, a total of 639,000 tons were completed in the third quarter, an increase of 7.7% over the same period last year, and the scale of international freight transport was equivalent to 104.3% of the same period in 2019.

  In terms of operational support: in the third quarter, civil aviation guaranteed a total of 1.083 million flights of various types, with an average of 10,284 flights per day, a year-on-year decrease of 12.6%; the flight punctuality rate was 91.8%, a year-on-year increase of 5.4 percentage points.
