A US nuclear company competing with KHNP for the export of nuclear power to Poland recently filed a lawsuit claiming that its technology was applied to the next-generation nuclear power plant in Korea.

So, it is argued that if we want to export nuclear power plants to Poland, we need a license from our company and the US, but first vice minister of science and information Oh Tae-seok said that even if we lose the lawsuit, the export of nuclear power plants to Poland will not be stopped.

First Vice Minister of Science and ICT Oh Tae-seok, who visited Washington to attend the International Atomic Energy Agency Ministerial Meeting, said that he would quickly respond to the US nuclear company Westinghouse's export control lawsuit against KHNP and KEPCO as it is a nationally important issue.

However, he responded cautiously, saying that he could not say with certainty about the concern that the export of nuclear power plants to Poland was not canceled due to this lawsuit.

He explained that Poland and the Czech Republic are countries that can export nuclear power plants due to US export controls.

In fact, it is known that KHNP will sign a letter of intent for cooperation with Poland at the end of this month at the earliest.

However, in the case of nuclear power plant exports, as national considerations such as security issues as well as technological prowess and costs act, the possibility cannot be ruled out that it will flow favorably to US companies.

At the Ministerial Meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Vice Minister Oh continued the sales of nuclear power plants by explaining the government's energy policies, such as increasing the ratio of nuclear power plants.
