Minister of Treasury and Finance Nureddin Nebati stated this in an interview with the Financial Times.

He noted that Ankara is persistently seeking a discount on the large amount of gas that it buys from Moscow, and also asked Gazprom about the possibility of deferring payments.

According to Nebati, "good news" is expected in both directions.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the country is turning into a major gas hub, which foreign countries hope for.
