At the end of the year, Airbus employees will receive a one-off payment of 1,500 euros.
The aircraft manufacturer is thus reacting to the multitude of current crises.
According to an internal letter from Airbus management, which is available to the FAZ, these also represented “a heavy and direct financial burden” for Airbus employees: “The volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity that characterize our environment have been reduced exacerbated by the energy crisis and inflation.”

The Executive Committee decided to pay the premium even though the company still faces some challenges in the near future.
At the turn of the year, Airbus had 126,000 employees, around 43,000 of them in Germany.
All employees, from trainees and students to senior management, receive the 1,500 euros.
Airbus employees in France, Great Britain and Spain will receive the same amount.
In other countries, the special payment is paid as a percentage of the basic salary.
“Airbus is leading by example.
The special payment helps employees to cope with the sharply rising prices," praises Daniel Friedrich, district manager of IG Metall Coast.
At the same time, he calls on Airbus to work towards a good solution in the ongoing wage negotiations.
At the end of September, the federal government made up of SPD, Greens and FDP decided to make a one-off payment from the employer to compensate for inflation tax-free up to an amount of 3,000 euros.
The prerequisite for tax exemption is that the bonus is paid in addition to the salary.
Payment is possible until the end of 2024.
