The Ministry of Industry has decided to grant zero euros and leave out of the Electric and Connected Vehicle Perte the second star plan sponsored by the Prime Minister,

Pedro Sánchez

, after Volkswagen in Sagunto.

This is the project of the Chinese group Envision in Navalmoral de la Mata (Extremadura) that will not finally receive European funds, according to the detail of the final resolution published this Tuesday by the Ministry of Industry.

"The Global Gabes tractor project

has been dismissed for not meeting the requirements

demanded in the call", affirms the Ministry headed by

Reyes Maroto.

Global Gabes is the consortium led by Envision with the support of Acciona that announced on July 18 an investment of 2,500 million euros "to build a gigafactory for batteries for electric vehicles in Navalmoral de la Mata by 2025, which will involve an investment of 2,500 million euros and the creation of 3,000 direct green jobs with high added value".

The event was attended by Sánchez himself who presented the project as "

an example of the Government's policy that is beginning to give great results thanks to European funds

". The Minister of Industry herself also attended.

Government sources are confident that the project will not evaporate because it remains outside the European funds of this Perte and point to other public aid to be able to retain its construction.

SEAT DOES NOT RULE OUT GIVING UP PROJECTS

On the other hand, the Ministry's statement confirms an aid close to 400 million euros for the consortium headed by Seat, as this newspaper advanced on Monday night.

This is the largest beneficiary of the 877 million granted in this Perte call, receiving 397.3 million.

However, the amount is less than half of what was requested by Volkswagen, which has announced an investment of 7,000 million euros.

Therefore, the German group reaffirms that it will study the low figure granted and that its gigafactory project in Sagunto is still up in the air.

"Now we will analyze the final resolution of the PERTE VEC and we will study its effects on all the projects

with the purpose of finding the appropriate solutions to be able to execute the maximum possible volume of the planned investment projects

", affirm official sources of the German group and Seat, leaving open the possibility of giving up some of their plans. That cold response occurs despite Sánchez's announcement last Monday that there would be a second call for Perte and that he will offer other aid The intention is to offer the remaining 500 million through regional incentives and other formulas to fill the void left by the Perte to the German group.

He's not the only one frustrated.

El Perte is 70% deserted due to, among other factors, the withdrawal of Ford by refusing to undertake the investments within the period established to obtain the funds.
