Iberdrola's board of directors has agreed to separate the positions of executive chairman and CEO, which is held by

Ignacio Sánchez Galán

, from Salamanca, who will continue as executive chairman, while the current General Director of Business,

Armando Martínez

, will be the CEO.

The electricity company, which tomorrow, Wednesday, presents its annual results, has informed the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) of several changes in the composition and changes of the board of directors.

Sánchez Galán has chaired Iberdrola since April 2006, when he replaced Íñigo de Oriol and has continued to serve as CEO since then, a position he had assumed in 2001 from the telecommunications sector.
