The leadership of the People's Bank of China welcomes the new year, and the 55-year-old former deputy director of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange Xuan Changneng has been promoted to the deputy governor of the central bank.

  At present, the "Bank Leadership" column on the official website of the People's Bank of China shows that Xuan Changneng has served as the deputy governor of the People's Bank of China and a member of the party committee.

  Born in Xuan Changneng in February 1967, from Wuwei County, Anhui Province, he graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Texas (Austin) with a bachelor's degree, a master's degree in law and a doctorate in finance.

  During his work in the United States, Xuan Changneng worked for JPMorgan Chase Bank as a senior analyst in the field of derivatives.

  In 2000, Xuan Changneng returned to work in China. He successively served as a member of the Planning Committee of the China Securities Regulatory Commission and the deputy director of the Institutional Supervision Department.

After 4 years, he joined China Construction Bank.

From September 2004 to November 2004, Xuan Changneng served as senior consultant (department general manager level) of China Construction Bank's Restructuring and Restructuring Office. From November 2004 to September 2006, he served as secretary to the board of directors of CCB and participated in the construction Bank restructuring, restructuring and listing work.

  In 2006, he returned to private equity for two years and became the managing director of JC Flowers Investment Company in the United States.

In 2008, Xuan Changneng joined the central bank and served as the director of the Financial Research Institute (at the bureau level). In February 2009, he became the director of the financial stability bureau of the central bank. During this period, he organized and promoted the establishment of the deposit insurance system, the reform of policy financial institutions, and the three Major financial reforms such as the reform of the Agricultural Finance Division.

  In August 2016, Xuan Changneng was transferred to the Assistant Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, in charge of the Issuance Department and Private Equity Department.

In August 2018, Xuan Changneng was transferred from the China Securities Regulatory Commission to the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, serving as the deputy director of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange and a member of the party group.

  This is the second vice-governor ushered in by the central bank in the past two months.

  At present, the leadership of the central bank includes President Yi Gang, Party Secretary and Vice President Guo Shuqing, Vice President Pan Gongsheng, Vice President Fan Yifei, Vice President Liu Guoqiang, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the State Supervisory Commission headed by the Central Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team Qu Jishan, deputy President Zhang Qingsong and Vice President Xuan Changneng.
