In connection with the accident in which a female worker in her 20s was caught in a sauce mixing machine at a bakery and died, the Ministry of Employment and Labor has charged the CEO of SPL, a subsidiary of SPC Group, on charges of violating the Act on the Punishment of Serious Accidents and the Industrial Safety and Health Act.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor has set up an 18-person investigation team in relation to the fatal accident at the bakery.



The Serious Accidents Punishment Act stipulates that the manager in charge establishes and implements a safety and health management system.



If a business manager fails to fulfill his/her duties and a serious accident occurs, he/she shall be punished by imprisonment for more than one year or a fine of not more than KRW 1 billion.



On the 18th, the Pyeongtaek Police Station booked the factory manager of the SPL Pyeongtaek plant on charges of manslaughter and negligence.
