Dubai Electricity and Water Authority recorded a growth in the number of new transmission stations by 22% during the first half of 2022, compared to the same period last year.

From the beginning of this year until June 2022, the authority inaugurated a new main transmission station "400 kV", and 10 new main transmission stations "132 kV", with investments amounting to one billion and 700 million dirhams, which raises the total number of transmission stations "400 kV" in Dubai to 26 stations, and transmission stations "132 kV" to 329 stations.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, indicated that the total value of the Authority’s investments in electricity transmission projects between 2021 and 2024 amounted to 10 billion dirhams, including two billion dirhams for major transport projects “400 kV”, and eight billion dirhams. Dirhams for the main transmission projects "132 kV".

He pointed out that the transmission station "132/400 kilovolts" was inaugurated in the Fifth Industrial Area of ​​Al Qusais, while the transmission stations "132/11 kilovolts" are distributed in the areas: Al Barsha South, Jebel Ali, Al Furjan, Al Markaz, Business Bay, Umm Hurair, Wadi Al-Safa, Oud Al-Muteena, Al-Raqqa, and Al-Wasl.
