“With the assistance of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, JSC Moldovagaz transferred $53.5 million to PJSC Gazprom for the September deliveries of natural gas,” Cheban wrote on Telegram.
He said that Moldovagaz also transferred $27.4 million to Gazprom as an advance payment in the amount of 50% of the total payment for supplies in October.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure of Moldova Andrei Spinu said that the Moldovan authorities had decided to provide a loan to Moldovagaz secured by the country's gas transportation system so that the company could pay off Gazprom on time.
