With soaring energy prices and the risk of supply problems this winter, ski resorts are preparing.

Several small family resorts have already announced an increase in the price of ski lift passes for the coming season, reports

Le Point

this Saturday.

The objective for them is to limit the impact of their energy bill on their costs.

Restricted increases

In most of these small areas, the increase mentioned is around 5%.

This is the case at Mont-Dore (Puy-de-Dôme), Peyragudes (Hautes-Pyrénées), where the package goes from 42 to 44 euros.

In Orcières Merlette (Hautes-Alpes) and Isola 2000 (Alpes-Maritimes), the flat rate has increased by more than two euros.

In Saint-Lary-Soulan (Hautes-Pyrénées), it is increasing by more than 3 euros, specify our colleagues.

For the moment, only two other stations have mentioned more significant increases.

These are Sept Laux (Isère), where the increase should be 6%, and Les Ménuires (Savoie), where the increase in the ski lift pass could exceed 10%.

Sobriety for all

It should be noted that, in the large areas, no significant increase should be decided, the latter having already voted the prices of the ski lifts before the energy crisis.

In addition, they most often benefit from preferential rates from their electricity supplier.

All stations should nevertheless be affected by energy sobriety measures.

The speed of the ski lifts could thus be limited.

Opening hours may also be reduced on certain off-peak days.
