Since the start of the school year, the SNCF is urgently looking for train drivers, reports

A recruitment forum was organized on Wednesday at Creil station.

In September, it was in Valenciennes (Nord) and another will soon be held in Beauvais.

Questioned by a senatorial commission, Jean-Pierre Farandou, the president of the SNCF, had admitted that his company had been mistaken about the needs, in particular in the Hauts-de-France where there would be a shortage of 65 drivers.

But for the manager, it “takes almost two years” to solve the problem.

130 to 140 fewer trains in the region

Consequently, the SNCF will set up an adapted transport plan (PTA) which consists of withdrawing between 130 to 140 trains each day in the region.

This PTA will notably impact the Paris – Saint-Quentin, Compiègne – Amiens, Paris – Beauvais and Beauvais – Creil lines.

But the recruitment plan is more global.

SNCF Voyageurs wishes to hire "440 employees for TER Hauts-de-France in the professions of TER train driver, on-board manager, rail stopover agent, maintenance agent, sales staff in stations and resource manager", specifies a press release. .
