The voice media group claims to have been the victim of a cyber attack.

The systems of the "Heilbronner Voice" and other companies in the media group have been largely paralyzed since Friday morning, the publisher said.

"Heilbronner Voice" editor-in-chief Uwe Ralf Heer told the German Press Agency that the publisher was planning to produce a six-page emergency edition for Saturday.

This should then be distributed to all households in the distribution area in the city and district of Heilbronn and in the Hohenlohe district.

The website “stimme.de” was initially accessible.

Computer systems were encrypted during the attack, Heer said.

There is a demand from the hackers.

Heer did not give any further details.

The police had been informed.

According to the company, the “Heilbronner Voice”, the “Hohenloher Zeitung” and the “Kraichgau Voice” are normally produced with a circulation of 75,000 copies.

The voice media group also includes the companies Pressedruck, Echo and RegioMail, which are also reported to have been affected by the cyber attack.

German media companies have been repeatedly exposed to cyber attacks in recent years.

These sometimes had effects for weeks on newspaper productions, among other things.
