's friendly economy time.

Reporter Han Ji-yeon is here.

Is eating a lot of pomegranate juice bad for your health?

<Reporter>

Yes, it is because there is more sugar than I thought. As a result of the Korea Consumer Agency examining 20 products of pomegranate juice on the market, the sugar content was as low as 4g to as high as 12g.

12g per sugar is the equivalent of 4 sugar cubes.

But I don't eat just one sachet a day.

Among the 20 surveyed subjects, 19 products were ordered to be eaten up to 3 times a day on the outer packaging or online sales page.

If you follow this method, you will consume up to 30.9g of sugar per day, and you will only eat about 62% of the daily 50g of sugar from processed foods with pomegranate juice.

Be sure to calculate your sugar intake and eat the right amount.

However, there were cases where even this was not possible. In some cases, the labeling information was omitted altogether, or when the actual analysis was conducted, the content of sugar was 200% more than the indicated content.

All of the products investigated this time are foods, but you said that there are many cases where they advertised efficacy and effectiveness?

<Reporter>

Yes, despite all of them being fruit and vegetable juice or liquid tea, 7 out of 20 products, more than a third, were advertised as if they were health functional foods.

I collected the expressions once, and they were tagged with words related to effects such as '#menopause' and '#female health food'.

"It has been used for therapeutic purposes since ancient times" and "It has a great effect on menopausal women," indicating that the efficacy of pomegranate could be mistaken for the efficacy of the product.

Still, you might think that 100% pomegranate juice has the effect of pomegranate.

Just think of it like a green tea drink or grape juice sold in the market.

In addition, the Consumer Agency explained that the recommendation to eat several times a day was also indicated without scientific evidence.

Are you saying that the government has decided to significantly increase the issuance of lottery tickets this year?

<Reporter>

Yes, we have decided to increase it by more than 60 billion won.

This is because this year's lottery tickets have sold better than expected, with some showing signs of running out prematurely.

This year's lottery issuance amounted to more than 6.7 trillion won, an increase of 61.1 billion won from the original plan.

When I looked at the lottery sales results by the end of July, the instant electronic lottery had already sold 96%.

Nearly 60% of the instant print lottery tickets were sold.

They decided to issue an additional 30 billion won each of these two lottery tickets.

It was the largest ever recorded, an increase of 8.7% from the previous year.

Compared to five years ago, it has increased by nearly 55%.

However, there is some debate as to whether an additional increase should be made if sales have already been made as planned at the beginning of the year.

<Anchor>

After all, since there are a lot of people looking for lottery tickets this year, the government is saying that they will increase the issuance amount as well.

Well, the lottery itself isn't that bad, but I'm not happy with the news that more people are looking for the lottery.

<Reporter>

Yes.

In fact, during the corona period when interest rates were low, the returns were so good that coins, stocks, and real estate frenzy blew.

But now that everything is withered, it is an analysis that many think that the only way to aim for 'oriental medicine' is the lottery.

The average monthly lottery purchase amount per household in the first quarter of this year was 759 won, up 17% from a year ago.

As the economy becomes difficult due to the corona virus, it is difficult to earn big money in a normal way, and more and more people are falling into the 'lottery'. This phenomenon is expected to become more pronounced in the future.

This is because the economic growth forecast for next year has been gradually lowered to around 2%, and there is a high possibility that the economy will get worse due to the additional increase in the base rate.
