The latest National Observatory of property taxes from the National Union of Property Owners reports bad news for owners based in Angers (Maine-et-Loire).
Indeed, as Ouest-France reports this Thursday, the town is one of the major cities in France where the property tax is the highest in 2021: 56.42%.
The Maine-et-Loire department in general has an average property tax rate of 44.34%, or 5 points more than the national average.
The last tax lever for local authorities
"With the abolition of the housing tax, except for second homes, the property tax has become the last tax lever for communities", explains the president of the UNPI 49. What penalizes the owners of real estate in the municipality , which bear the brunt of this increase (+ 27.1% in ten years in Maine-et-Loire, + 24.9% in France).
