In response to the soaring prices of raw materials such as wheat, the ticket price for an event where pasta shops compete for the taste that has been going on for more than 10 years in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture, will be raised.

This event, called "King of Pasta," was started 13 years ago to promote the food culture of Takasaki City, which has long been a flourishing wheat producer. I'm deciding the order.

In response to the fact that the infection situation of the new corona has calmed down, this year will be held on November 13th at one venue for the first time in three years, with all the participating shops gathering. The ticket price to taste it was 2000 yen so far.

However, the price of wheat and many other ingredients has risen, increasing the burden on the stores, so the executive committee decided to raise the ticket price by 500 yen.

It is the first champion of the event, and even at the main store in Takasaki City, where the store will be opened this time, the cost of flour, cooking oil, and cheese that uses a mixture of domestic and foreign products has increased significantly.

Shoteru Oki, the store representative, said, "Due to high prices, the store is raising prices, but if this situation continues, we will have to raise prices again. However, the event will be held at the venue for the first time in a long time. So I want many people to come and eat."

Executive Committee "Painful Decision"

At "King of Pasta," visitors can taste products from five different stores with one ticket.

The "champion" is decided by voting, and 18 stores in Takasaki City are scheduled to open this year.

Shinichi Aoshima, chairman of the executive committee, said, ``It was a difficult decision to raise the ticket price when we thought about the shops that would open in the midst of high prices. I think they will produce wonderful products, so I would like many people to eat 'Takasaki pasta'."
