Yesterday, the Ministry of Economy launched the second phase of the "Hometown of Entrepreneurship", the unique and integrated national project to develop the environment of small and medium-sized companies and entrepreneurial projects in the UAE, which is based on the largest series of partnerships between the public and private sectors.

During a press meeting held at GITEX Global, the ministry stated that the second phase of the project will include 12 new programs that provide entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium-sized companies with the best expertise, digital tools and financing solutions necessary to grow their businesses in accordance with international best practices.

Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, said: “We have launched a new chapter in the development of the entrepreneurship system in the UAE, by launching the second phase of the Entrepreneurship Home project, which today has become a mainstay in the efforts of the UAE government to support, develop and empower emerging companies in the country. Providing it with the best tools and practices followed globally, increasing its contributions to GDP growth, in addition to its pivotal role in attracting successful pioneering projects and promising companies to be based in the country.”

Al-Marri added, “(The Home of Entrepreneurship) was able to achieve great successes during the first phase, which included providing support estimated at 20 million dirhams provided to entrepreneurs and emerging companies by project partners from the private sector, and supporting 1,000 projects out of more than 5,000 companies and projects. The entrepreneurship home portal, in addition to the launch of 10 programs designed specifically for entrepreneurs registered in the project platform, as well as cooperation with 50 universities and 90 schools with the aim of preparing a generation capable of entrepreneurial skills, able to enter the market with strong and sustainable ingredients.

Al-Marri pointed out that the goals adopted by the "House of Entrepreneurship" are ambitious and long-term, foremost of which is providing support to more than 8000 start-up companies and pilot projects from small and medium enterprises in the country, and transforming more than 20 billion companies (unicorns) by 2031. .

The “House of Entrepreneurship” has succeeded, over the course of nearly a year from launching its first phase, in establishing a series of partnerships that exceeded 35 partnerships, and is the largest of its kind between the government, the national private sector, and prestigious international institutions and companies concerned with entrepreneurship, including the (MIT) Forum for Entrepreneurship. Business in the Arab world, Microsoft, Google, Huawei, Cisco, UPS, Linkedin, Meta and the &e group.

Digital Skills Forum

The Ministry of Economy launched the “Future Generation” Digital Skills Forum, its latest initiative aimed at developing the capabilities of young people in the UAE, and empowering and preparing future leaders in the technology sector.

The ministry said in a statement yesterday that the launch event is scheduled to be held by default on the second of next November.

The forum, which is a joint initiative between the Ministries of Economy and Education, aims to attract more than 5,000 male and female students from universities in the country, to help them acquire the skills required for future jobs, especially in the field of technology.
