Tripbitoz, an online travel agency (OTA), announced today (7th) that the number of Japanese accommodation reservations in September increased by 2,500% compared to the previous month.

In August, Japan ranked 22nd in the country's travel booking rankings, but in September it moved up to second place.

By region, Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Osaka, which were popular destinations before the coronavirus outbreak, were still popular.

The Tokyo area made up about 36% of all reservations, followed by Fukuoka (24%) and Osaka (22%).

The Japanese government will allow foreign tourists to enter the country without a visa from the 11th.

The upper limit on the number of daily entry of 50,000 people has also been abolished.

Jang Yong-sook, Chief Data Officer (CDO) of Tripbitoz, analyzed, "Demand is rapidly recovering due to the decrease in the corona virus, free travel to Japan, and the impact of the yen."
