IMF cuts global GDP growth forecast for 2023

On October 6, local time, Georgieva, President of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), said that the risk of a global recession is rising.

The International Monetary Fund will cut its forecast for global GDP growth in 2023 next week.

Georgieva said the country, which accounts for one-third of the global economy, is expected to contract for at least two consecutive quarters this year or next.

She also said central banks should continue to deal with high inflation even as economic growth slows.
