On October 1st, the "Revised Radio Law" came into force, allowing new entrants to allocate radio waves that are easy to reach indoors and underground, called "Platinum Bands".

It is expected that competition will encourage mobile phone companies to make effective use of the limited radio waves and increase convenience for users.

Until now, radio waves allocated to mobile phone companies could be used continuously by applying, but under the revised Radio Law that came into force on October 1, a council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has not effectively used radio waves. If it is judged that it is, it will be possible to allocate it to new entrants.

What is attracting attention due to this system change is the allocation of radio waves that are easy to reach indoors and underground, called "Platinum Band".

NTT Docomo, KDDI, and Softbank are currently using it, but Rakuten Mobile hopes to allocate it early.

The details of the system are expected to be decided after listening to the opinions of each company, and it is expected to promote the effective use of limited radio waves and increase user convenience through competition.

However, the existing three major companies that use the platinum band will need to modify their communication equipment, etc., and it will take a certain amount of time to make the transition. It will be an issue.
