Lebedev believes that the United States was involved in the damage to the pipelines.

In the last thirty years, he says, he doesn't remember "anything of that magnitude."

He also said that "the Americans have long threatened" the pipeline.

In his opinion, in this way they are trying to “toughly unfriend” Russia with Germany.

He added that "this is very bad, because the German industry is about to shut down."

He also said that the prospects for the restoration of the pipeline "are very vague and it is not clear how long it will take."

“It’s clear now that winter is coming, the stakes are going up, and the Americans have done the meanest thing ... that could only be done,” he said.

Earlier, the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia initiated the initiation of a case on an act of international terrorism after the accidents on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.

The case is being investigated by the Federal Security Service.

The Kremlin reported that Putin had given a fundamental assessment of the unprecedented sabotage at Nord Stream, in fact, an act of international terrorism.
