 The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center received yesterday His Excellency Akio Isumata, Ambassador of Japan to the UAE, who discussed with His Excellency Salem Humaid Al Marri, Director General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, opportunities for cooperation and was briefed on the center's most prominent sections.



The center is linked to long-term strategic partnerships with a number of Japanese partners, spanning more than a decade, including the launch of satellites and the transfer of the first Emirati mission to the surface of the moon.



The visit reviewed ways to strengthen the relationship with Japanese partners, and the most prominent stations of this partnership are:



 The launch of KhalifaSat, the most advanced Emirati satellite in space, from Japan on a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries rocket from the Tanegashima Space Center, operated by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency “JAXA” and the Kibo Robot Programming Challenge as part of the “Zayed Ambition” mission in cooperation with the Exploration Agency In addition to the launch of the Emirates Mars Exploration Project, "Probe of Hope" aboard a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries rocket from the Tanegashima Space Center operated by the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency "JAXA", in addition to the transportation of the explorer Rashid to the surface of the moon through a Japanese lander. A subsidiary of Ispace, as part of the Emirates project to explore the moon.



It is worth noting that the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) are members of the Sentinel Asia Initiative, an international initiative that brings together space agencies, disaster management agencies and international agencies and works on the use of remote sensing technologies and geographic information systems to support disaster management in Asia and the Pacific.
