The Government begins negotiations with officials this afternoon, and at that meeting it will offer union representatives a multi-
year salary increase plan
with an initial increase of around 3.5% by 2023.
The attempt to improve several years is something that the Civil Service had already pointed out on more than one occasion, since they consider that it is the best option to try to recover part of the lost purchasing power.
The term would be between two and three years, according to union sources, and the increase would be
linked to the progress of the economy
, as the previous Minister of Finance and Public Administration,
Cristóbal Montoro
, already did .
On that occasion, the variables were
economic growth and the deficit
, mainly, and, effectively, the agreement allowed officials to recover purchasing power.
Within that offer will include an initial rise close to 3.5%.
Public Function, in this case, does not confirm this data since they indicate that
the negotiations are open
.
But that data, which has been advanced by
El País
and confirmed by union representatives, is part of the GDP deflator.
