Apple Korea headquarters investigated the allegations that the Fair Trade Commission overcharged in-app payment fees.

The Market Surveillance Bureau of the Fair Trade Commission sent an investigator to Apple Korea in Gangnam-gu, Seoul yesterday (26th) to conduct an on-site investigation.

Earlier, the Mobile Game Association reported to the Fair Trade Commission that Apple took about 350 billion won more from developers by unfairly calculating in-app payment fees.

The association claimed that although Apple's in-app payment fee rate that Apple should receive from developers is 30%, it was calculated by adding 10% of VAT as sales and actually took 33% of it.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) lowered Korea's economic growth forecast for next year by 0.3 percentage points to 2.2% from the previous 2.5%.

This is lower than the government's forecast of 2.5% and the Asian Development Bank's 2.3%, and higher than the Bank of Korea's forecast of 2.1%.

The inflation forecast for next year has been raised by 0.1 percentage point to 3.9% from the previous 3.8%.

“Global economic growth has stagnated due to rising energy and food prices due to the prolonged war in Ukraine, and economic recovery is expected to be delayed for a considerable period due to monetary tightening in major countries,” the OECD said. It looks like it will,” he explained.
