Miyagi Prefecture's "Miyagi Co-op" started delivering winter kerosene from the 26th, before the cold season.

The price of delivered kerosene per 18 liters is more than 280 yen higher than the same period last year, and users are worried about the impact on their lives.

Miyagi Co-op, which delivers kerosene to approximately 43,000 households in Miyagi Prefecture, began delivering kerosene in winter from the 26th.

On the 26th, a truck carrying kerosene went around about 130 households in Aoba Ward, Sendai City, and the person in charge refueled the kerosene tank installed in the plastic tank and the house.

The Miyagi Co-op has announced that the price of kerosene delivered this winter will be 2,052 yen per 18 liters, including tax, which is 288 yen higher than the same period last year, due to the fact that crude oil prices have remained high due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. It was the highest since 1986, when the current system was used to determine prices.

A female user in her 70s said, "I'm surprised by the high price, but I think it can't be helped because of the war in Ukraine. I'm going to adjust the clothes I wear and find a cheaper place to buy." was

Masahiro Iiyama, deputy director of the Miyagi Co-op Sendai West Center, said, "Prices tend to rise due to the world situation and the weaker yen. It's unfortunate that prices are going up because they're necessary for daily life, but we're trying to offer them at reasonable prices. I will continue," he said.
