[Explanation] On September 22, the 2022 Railway Compound Talent Training and Development Forum was held in Liuzhou, Guangxi.

Experts and scholars in the field of railway transportation from China, Europe and ASEAN countries, and representatives of schools and enterprises participated in the combination of online and offline methods to discuss how to cultivate compound talents for the international development of the railway industry.

[Explanation] For a long time, China and ASEAN countries have joined hands in the construction of the "Belt and Road" and continued to promote connectivity.

In December 2021, the 1,035-kilometer-long China-Laos railway was opened to traffic.

A number of "Belt and Road" joint construction projects such as the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway and the China-Thailand railway are advancing in an orderly manner.

[Explanation] In this context, the demand for railway talents in ASEAN countries has further increased, and how to cultivate international and compound railway talents suitable for the "Belt and Road" project has become an important topic of this forum.

A number of experts and scholars conducted exchanges in the fields of education, science and technology, economy and other fields, and offered suggestions for the training of railway talents in China and ASEAN countries.

[Explanation] At present, China has the world's advanced high-speed rail technology system with independent intellectual property rights, and the complete system covers the three major fields of high-speed rail engineering construction, equipment manufacturing, and operation management.

The exchanges between China and ASEAN countries in railway personnel training are becoming more and more close.

[Explanation] As the organizer of this forum, Liuzhou Railway Vocational and Technical College has jointly established a talent training project with railway-related colleges and universities in many ASEAN countries, delivering a large number of localized talents to the railway systems in many ASEAN countries every year.

Yang Longping, the vice president of the school, said that this forum will effectively gather the strength of China and ASEAN countries to solve the pain points and difficulties in the training of international railway compound talents.

We established the China-ASEAN Rail Transit Vocational Education Alliance, built a cooperation platform for joint construction and sharing, and trained more than 300 students from ASEAN countries such as Thailand and Laos.

The main purpose of holding this forum is to "take the pulse" of our previous time period, provide some theoretical guidance for vocational education to serve ASEAN countries, and also allow more of our member units to share various information through such a platform. The school has gained some successful experiences in international service and learns from each other.
