Many of the land purchased by Land and Housing Corporation LH to build houses or public institutions is currently neglected.

That's the combined area of 130 soccer fields.

It is pointed out that if the land were sold, about 27 billion won could be saved every year.

Reporter Jo Yoon-ha covered the scene.

<Reporter> This

is a 13,000 square meter site in Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do.

There is a lot of grass, and there are garbage dumped here and there.

A sign is posted right in front of the land that reads "Unauthorized use and occupation by LH is prohibited."

Originally, they were going to build a middle school, but when the establishment failed, they left it alone.

[Kim Sang-eon / Tanhyeon-myeon, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do: After saying that you are developing something, and putting up all the signs, I don't think there is much to come and talk about it.

From bugs to snakes, there are quite a few inconveniences in living right now.]

This is the land LH has owned since 1997.

However, since nothing has been built and not managed, you can see that weeds have grown so abundantly.

Although LH has this all over the country, a total of 127 land that has been left unsold for a long time is equivalent to the combined size of 133 soccer fields.

In terms of the amount, it is 691.3 billion won.

This land in Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do was also purchased by LH to build a public health center during the development of the new city, but now it has become a parking lot.

[Eunseok Eun-seok / Gurae-dong, Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do: It has been used as a temporary parking lot since I moved in 4 years ago.

There is no separate fee.

It's almost like a free parking lot.]

If the development project failed, we had to sell the land we secured for business, but LH locked the land, resulting in additional financial costs of KRW 27.6 billion every year.

It is pointed out that LH, which was designated as a financial risk institution last June, neglected to cut costs.

[Kang Dae-sik/People's Power Rep. (National Assembly Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee): First of all, it is necessary to accurately forecast demand, and if the project becomes a little difficult, system improvement is necessary, such as quickly changing the use.]

LH said, "Demand and supply at the time of business plan Demand has changed at the time," he said.
