China News Service, September 21. According to the news from the WeChat public account of "Shanghai Market Supervision" on the 21st, recently, under the guidance of the Shanghai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation and the Shanghai Municipal Drug Administration, the Shanghai Metrology Association and the Shanghai Pharmaceutical Quality Association organized The compiled group standard of "Guidelines for Weight Reduction of Pharmaceutical Packaging Tablets and Capsules" was officially released, and the standard will be officially implemented on September 30.

It is reported that the release of this standard fills the technical gap of "restricting excessive packaging of drugs" and becomes the first group standard related to packaging reduction in the pharmaceutical field in China.

The "Guidelines for the Weight Reduction of Pharmaceutical Packaging Tablets and Capsules" focuses on the centralized drug collection of tablets and capsules. Covering the over-packaging management of the entire industrial chain of drug production and operation.

In terms of production, the standard clearly points out that it is possible to consider adjusting the form of medium packaging that is currently widely used in the market, and replace traditional cartons with wrapping films, plastic sealing tapes and other forms to achieve packaging reduction.

In terms of transportation, the standard clearly points out that cartons that meet the needs of various storage environments such as refrigeration and normal temperature can be selected, instead of the "one-size-fits-all" packaging method of traditional carton models and specifications, and transport medicines in a more scientific, reasonable and economical way.

The standard puts forward clear requirements on the porosity of drug packaging and the number of packaging layers. For example, the number of packaging layers should be less than or equal to three layers, and the packaging porosity should be limited according to the content of the drug.

This standard responds to the voices of citizens, especially those with chronic diseases, to reduce unnecessary packaging of medicines, avoids the scene of "piling up like mountains" of canned Chinese medicines at home, and realizes the reduction of the number of packaging layers, the slimming of packaging boxes, and the reduction of medicines per plate. Changes such as “increase more” are more vivid practices of advocating green and low-carbon life.
