In 2019, the sugar company launched a social plan resulting in the dismissal of 53 of the 58 jobs on this industrial site in the northern districts.

For a time envisaged as a logistics center for La Poste, the 11 hectares of the site will finally be converted into a film studio, in accordance with the presidential wish of Emmanuel Macron who, during the presentation of the "Marseille en grand" plan, indicated that he wanted to city ​​the "great studios of the Mediterranean".

The details have not yet been communicated, except for the two buyers: the Provence Studios company based in Martigues in association with the Brownfield investment fund, specializing in rehabilitation projects.
