Masdar City, in partnership with the UAE Space Agency, announced the launch of a new licensing package to incubate and accelerate the work of emerging companies active in the field of space and small and medium-sized companies, to join the Economic Space Zone in Masdar City in Abu Dhabi.

A statement issued yesterday indicated that companies that join the economic space zone will be able to benefit from registration and licensing services, as the free zone in Masdar City will provide licenses designed for companies operating in one of the areas of the space sector, which include: space launch, space communication, Logistics, data analysis, science, technology, engineering, and many more.

The companies will also enjoy a package of benefits that include providing a business incubator, guidance and counseling, the ability to build networks, investment opportunities, and cooperation with leading global research centers, as members of the Economic Space Zones Program.

Startups and SMEs will be able to obtain visa services for their employees.

"Masdar City has developed a unique business environment to empower companies and support and stimulate innovation," said Ahmed Baghoum, CEO of Masdar City.

He added, "Through our partnership with the Emirates Space Agency, we seek to host the first space zone in the UAE, and to attract talented professionals from all over the world."

For his part, Ibrahim Al Qassim, Deputy Director General of the Emirates Space Agency, said that "the new business package is designed to attract and establish more companies within the space sector."

It is noteworthy that the Economic Space Zone was launched in Masdar City last January, in cooperation with the Emirates Space Agency, and is the first space technology zone launched by the UAE, within the framework of the Economic Space Zones Program.
