US vessel delivers 100 million cubic meters of gas for the Czech Republic to an LNG terminal in the Netherlands

ČEZ spokesman Roman Gazdik told reporters about this.

“The tanker delivered the first 100 million cubic meters of gas to the Czech Republic right on schedule, and we expect seven more ships by the end of the year.

In total, the Czech Republic leases a third of this LNG terminal, which is 3 billion cubic meters of gas,” he said.

His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

Gazdik noted that these reserves will cover a third of the annual gas consumption in the republic.

“In general, their delivery will require 30 tanker trips, while gas will be bought at spot prices,” he said.

The agency draws attention to the fact that the annual gas consumption in the Czech Republic is approximately 9 billion cubic meters.

Energy analyst at ENA Vladimir Shtepan earlier expressed confidence that the Czech Republic should independently negotiate with Gazprom on further gas supplies from Russia in order to avoid problems in the future.
