He stated this during a speech at a press conference at the 86th Thessaloniki International Exhibition. 

“The ruble has become one of the strongest currencies since the rise in natural gas prices,” TASS quoted Tsipras as saying.

As for the European countries, the former Greek Prime Minister stressed, they are "rolling head over heels."

In his opinion, it was the European Union that suffered the most from anti-Russian sanctions.

Tsipras also noted the lack of leadership, thinking and strategy among European leaders.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia's budget this year will be in surplus, despite all the "gloomy forecasts."
