Civil aviation announces this Thursday that a thousand flights are canceled in France.

This decision was taken on Tuesday following a strike notice launched by the SNCTA (National Union of Air Traffic Controllers) and concerns both metropolitan France and overseas.

Increase in wages and bonuses

The SNCTA, the majority union among air traffic controllers, decided on this movement to demand wage increases to compensate for inflation, as well as recruitment.

Air France announced on Wednesday a salary increase of 5% to all its employees, accompanied by a bonus of 1,000 euros.

The administration had called on Tuesday the companies to reduce their flight program in mainland France and overseas by 50% following this social movement, at the call of the main union of air traffic controllers which is demanding wage increases and hirings.
