The yen exchange rate at 5:00 pm was 51 sen compared to the 12th, and the yen strengthened against the dollar at 142.25 to 26 sen.



On the other hand, against the euro, it was 93 sen compared to the 12th, and 1 euro = 144 33 sen to 37 sen as the yen strengthened against the euro.



The euro was 1 euro = 1.0146 to 48 dollars against the dollar.



A market official said, ``As the yen has depreciated rapidly recently, the trend was to sell the dollar and buy back the yen in order to take a profit. However, investors are interested in it because it will be an important factor in determining the pace of future interest rate hikes in the United States."
