flydubai adds a third Uzbek city to its network

Today, flydubai announced that it will launch its flights to the Uzbek city of Namankan, starting from September 24, with two flights per week, making it the first national airline to provide direct flights to this city from Dubai.

The carrier pointed out in a statement that Namankan will be its third destination in Uzbekistan after Samarkand, which will start its flights to it on September 20, and the capital, Tashkent.

She explained that flights to Namankan International Airport will be operated from Terminal No. 2 at Dubai International Airport on Wednesday and Saturday.

flydubai added that with the launch of its flights to Namankan, the airline has expanded its network in Central Asia to seven destinations, providing travelers from the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries the opportunity to explore more destinations in that region.

"Uzbekistan is an emerging market for (flydubai), and we are pleased to see our network expand in it with the start of flights to Namankan and the operation of Samarkand flights next week," flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith said.

"The airline's 10 weekly flights to the Uzbek market will enhance commercial and cultural ties with the UAE," he added.

Jehun Effendi, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-Commerce at flydubai, said, "Central Asia has become a fast-growing market for flydubai, as we have witnessed a sustainable demand for travel since the start of our operations in this region."

It is noteworthy that "flydubai" operates regular flights to seven destinations in Central Asia, including Almaty and Nur-Sultan in Kazakhstan, Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan, Dushanbe in Tajikistan, as well as Namankan, Samarkand and Tashkent in Uzbekistan.
