According to the Russian diplomat, Gazprom is seeking strict fulfillment by Siemens of contractual obligations and protection of equipment from sanctions.

He recalled that the last turbine at the Portovaya pumping station was recently stopped due to an oil leak.

“Representatives of Siemens issued a statement saying that this had happened before, and there was “nothing wrong” in this.

For us, this approach is unacceptable.

Besides, it's unsafe.

Faulty equipment will not be operated,” Nechaev said in an interview with Izvestia.

As Gazprom's press service reported on September 2, an oil leak was discovered during maintenance work on the Trent 60 unit at the Portovaya CS.

Subsequently, Gazprom completely stopped deliveries via Nord Stream until the problems were fixed.
