As labor shortages become an issue in the logistics industry, there is a growing movement to automate logistics warehouses.

A subsidiary of the SoftBank Group will newly enter the logistics warehouse automation business, and opened a facility to introduce the latest technology on the 12th.

The logistics facility, which opened in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, has an area of over 1,000 square meters and is equipped with an automated warehouse system that can automatically store and pick up packages.

In addition, a glasses-type terminal "smart glasses" that allows you to check information such as the position and number of packages on the display, and a device that automatically packs packages to be shipped are also incorporated.

In the logistics industry, while the number of packages such as online shopping is increasing rapidly, labor shortages are becoming a problem.

Dai Sakata, CPO, said, "Logistics is one of the industries where labor shortages are conspicuous, including the declining birthrate and aging population. I think that the working environment can be improved by mechanization."

Regarding the automation of logistics, companies such as venture companies have realized full automation of large warehouses, and trading companies have started a service for renting robots that transport and sort goods at logistics facilities.
