The data of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, showed a growth of 69% in the number of new members, whose number during the period (January-August 2022) reached more than 27,1 thousand new companies, compared to 16,032 new companies during the period. The Dubai Chamber of Commerce revealed that the value of exports and re-exports of its members during the period (January-August 2022) grew by 20.2%, reaching 177 billion dirhams, compared to 147.3 billion dirhams during the same period last year, which reflects the strength of the trade sector in the emirate. And the potential of Dubai traders in identifying opportunities in global markets.

The number of certificates of origin issued by the Chamber during the same period amounted to 476,937 certificates, a growth of 9.8% compared to the number during the same period last year.

These indicators reflect the flexibility of Dubai Chambers, the impact of restructuring on their activities, and their ability to serve the business community smoothly and easily.

The number of temporary entry books for goods, which is an international customs document that allows the temporary import of goods for a period of one year at most without imposing any fees or taxes, issued by the Chamber and received by the state during the period (January-August 2022) is about 2674 entry books for goods and commodities, with a value of 1.33 billion dirhams, an increase of 22.2% compared to the number during the same period last year.

The Chamber achieved a growth in the number of electronic transactions by 12.7% during the same period, bringing the number of completed electronic transactions to 642,000 transactions, thus enhancing the Chamber's role in supporting digital and smart transformation in the business environment.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Chambers, Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Ghurair, stressed that “improving the competitiveness of Dubai’s economy is a priority in the next stage, as the emirate’s economic model is an important attracting factor for emerging and existing companies,” noting that “Dubai Chambers succeeded, after adopting its new strategy, in implementing initiatives Diversity has resulted in an increasing growth in the number of members, and a diversification in the destinations of members’ exports and re-exports.”
