The blast furnace of POSCO Pohang Works, which was suspended due to the 11th typhoon 'Hinnamno', is scheduled to restart sequentially from tomorrow (10th).



POSCO announced that the work to normalize the post- and post-process necessary for restarting the blast furnace, such as restarting the supply of steam, oxygen, and nitrogen, and final inspection of steel mill facilities, is proceeding without any setbacks.



POSCO is planning to operate a liquefied natural gas power plant in the morning to supply steam necessary for the operation of the blast furnace, and restart the three blast furnaces that were stopped due to flood damage from tomorrow.



A POSCO official said, "We are repeating checks and inspections to ensure that necessary safety measures are not omitted prior to electrical restoration and facility commissioning. .



POSCO Pohang Works was shut down due to flooding and power outages in most areas of the steelworks, including the faucet substation, KEPCO's electricity supply facility, due to record heavy rain of up to 500mm and flooding of the nearby river Naengcheon in the early morning of the 6th.
